A Resurrection hymn

I find that I write words to music, often I find that I am writing words which are prayers, or statements of faith.  Sometimes I will find that tunes from one season enter into my head during a different season.  Below is a hymn set to the tune “O come, O come Emmanuel” with resurrection themes…

O Come, O come Emmanuel, O come within my heart to dwell.  Within your service let me be, for bound to you I am most fully free.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come thou Son of Mary come with your light that is brighter than the sun.  Incarnate Lord, your healing bring into my soul that I may always sing.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O Thou who rose from Calvary’s tree creation sings her song of praise to thee, the mountains and the valley’s shout: “all you are dead, from the grave come out!”

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O Risen Christ to me, my heart is restless ‘till it rests in thee.  Let me your saving word proclaim and in your temple ever bless your name.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
